THE LOCATION:Private Residence, Chantilly, VA
THE PROJECT:This large kitchen wall needed something special.
It could be seen from other areas in the house and attracted attention due
to its scale. The various vent intakes, electrical switches and outlets
made it impossible to place artwork on the wall. The client wanted to
present a theme of a French provencial lifestyle in her kitchen.
THE SOLUTION:Transforming the space to appear like the
vent was a window. And painting a window that opened up to a view
of the French Countryside was the escape from the blank wall the
client was looking for. With the addition of bundles of herbs,
hanging pots and even a painting of their dog without the
gray whiskers, the entire family was pleased with the creation.
