THE LOCATION: Private Residence, Gaithersburg, MD (1999)
THE PROJECT:A woman contacted me about designing and painting her
sister's baby nursery for her. She sent me samples of the existing wallpaper
and paint colors that were already in place. This was meant to serve as a gift
to the sister and the new baby. I was honored to be part of such a kind gift.
THE SOLUTION: Without seeing the room, I forwarded a
number of recommendations that I thought would be appropriate for the
room given the space and other elements I was informed about.
She ended up commissioning me for every recommendation. I created a
custom valance, personalized step stool, faux finish with mural accents
and other special touches. It turned out great and all is well with mother and child.
